Advanced Training – 10 Hours Night Flying

A 10‑hour night‑flying block is one of the most effective ways to complete night‑rating training. With time spread across multiple structured lessons, you’ll build confidence, develop key night‑flying skills, and gain a clear understanding of how flying after dark differs from daytime training.

Each lesson begins with a briefing on the ground before you head out to the aircraft. Once airborne, your instructor will guide you through the essentials, introduce new manoeuvres as you advance, and give you hands‑on time to practise them throughout the block.

A complete, structured foundation for night‑rating training.

Meaningful progress across multiple evening lessons.

With ten hours of dual instruction, you’ll experience how night‑flying skills build from one lesson to the next — an ideal pathway if you’re working toward a night rating.

What's Involved?

A structured series of night‑flying lessons designed to build confidence, develop core skills, and establish a solid night‑flying foundation.

  • Pre‑flight briefings before each night lesson
  • Ten hours of dual instruction after dark
  • Progressive introduction to core night‑flying manoeuvres
  • Instructor feedback and time for questions after each session
  • Are there any medical restrictions?

Most people can take part in night flying without any issues. If you have a medical condition that affects mobility, balance, or breathing, just let us know so we can advise you properly.

  • Are there any weight or size limitations?

Yes — light aircraft have practical limits. If you’re unsure whether this applies to you, get in touch and we’ll confirm before you book.

  • Is there a minimum or maximum age?

There’s no upper age limit. Younger students are welcome, but they must be able to sit safely in the aircraft and follow basic instructions.

  • Can I bring someone with me?

Some training aircraft have a spare seat, which can be used depending on weight and balance. If this is important to you, ask us when booking.

  • What happens if the weather is bad?

If conditions aren’t suitable, we’ll simply reschedule your night lesson for another day. Safety and comfort always come first.

  • Does this count toward a pilot licence?

Yes — all dual‑instruction time can be logged and counts toward the hours required for a Pilot Licence.
